He claims that by doing this, the nation will be able to produce growth from inside its own SMEs, which will be supported by a strong ecosystem of SME financing that can be used as a means of achieving sustainable growth.

Speaking to the media in Accra, the Minister stated that early stakeholder engagements had identified three primary obstacles facing SMEs: obtaining funding, expanding into new markets and exports, and dealing with formalization and tax restrictions.

Dr. Amin Adam stated, “We are reviewing our current SME programs and talking to various state and private sector agencies, such as financial institutions, all aimed at consolidating our efforts at providing opportunities for Ghanaian SMEs.”
